False Alarms

If you trigger your alarm accidentally, don’t panic. Just follow these steps:

  1. Keep your phone lines open for our call.
  2. When we call, tell the dispatcher your passcode.

Repeated false alarms that result in police dispatch may cause you to be fined by the city. If you wish to avoid this it’s extremely important that you know and follow false alarm procedures, and that you know your system’s passcode.

Of course, the best thing would be to prevent false alarms altogether. To help with this, here are a few pointers:

  1. Use care when entering your code into the keypad.
  2. Make sure all doors and windows are secured before arming the alarm.
  3. Exit before your delay time expires (or, if entering, disarm the alarm before time expires).
Tell anyone who will be operating the system how to arm and disarm it, and what to do in the event of a false alarm. Make sure they also know the passcode.
